When meeting works — and when it doesn’t | A Deep Democracy–moderated Open Forum

We live side by side and still in very different worlds. Different experiences, opinions, fears and hopes — shaped by gender, generation, background, social milieus and lived experience. Sometimes these worlds barely touch. Sometimes they collide.

This facilitated Open Forum invites you to explore what it’s like to live in parallel worlds — and what makes meeting the other possible, or difficult.

The evening will begin with a few warm-up speakers who will open the space by sharing different and partly polarising perspectives. From there, the forum opens up to the room. Participants are invited to add further voices, experiences and viewpoints as they arise.

This is not a classic Q&A and not a panel discussion. It’s an open forum where dialogue, disagreement and debate are welcome, and where perspectives can stand next to each other without needing to be resolved.

You don’t need to prepare anything. You don’t need to be an expert. You can speak, listen, argue, stay silent or change your mind — all of it is welcome. You’re free to join at any time and leave whenever you need. Stay for the whole forum or just for a part.
