Begleite mich, sei mit mir, folge mir: Navigieren mit Menschen in veränderten Zuständen

31. Januar1. Februar

2-day in person experiential Process Work seminar in Oslo

For caregivers at home or at work, special education teachers,  social care practitioners and clinicians, and their leanring and professional guides

At times many of us in the actual interaction with a client or student  struggle to get inside the state of mind and lived experience of a person with intellectual, developmental and neurological differences. This person may communicate, move and make sense of the world in non-traditional ways that are like a foreign country to their assistant/helper, teacher or therapist.  “I have compassion fatigue” “he is defiant” “she’s just plain lazy”, “they are manipulative” “He’s doing it deliberately to upset me” “I cant work with this person any more” are common place frustrations.

And then:

Am I being over directive? (tendency towards coercion). Am I being under-engaged? (Tendency towards neglect). These are inner debates that many of us grapple with constantly.

Such inner disturbances are common place and are rarely solved in the long term by getting more pay, more hours, resolving to have more patience ….

We will decode well-known social norms ( illusive identity and cultural ghosts) that limit creative thinking and systemic solutions by creating resistance. Resistance provides a counter force to grow innate powers in order to:

Join me. Hear me. See me. Follow me. Follow With Me.

This seminar introduces three main ideas from Mindell’s Process Work to shift the energy from stuck to flow.

1) Altered states are experiences that fall outside the norm of behaviours that are generally agreed upon as acceptable in particular cultural group.

2) City Shadows are the unseen dynamics in urban life—the fears, biases, and discomforts that surface when people with different abilities, behaviours, or states of mind move through public spaces, revealing what a city includes, excludes, or prefers not to see.

3) Process unfolding to:

TRACK feedback signals to de-escalate frustration and misunderstandings

AGILE ROLE ROTATION to switch from what you “know” to jump across and right inside the person’s deepest motivation on their own terms

GO SLOW to travel down to the core beauty and inner GPS of the person hidden within the difficulty

BRIDGE personal and collective divides to break open into new directions and side-by-side opportunities

4) Interaction metaskiils

MATCH your energetic tone and movement with the person’s energetic vibration

DROP CONTENT and righteousness to make space for something totally unexpected to drop in – a drop of magic that has the power to grow new capabilities and dissolve resistance.

Take-home tools

Seminar participants will experience tools and approaches that are as benefical for the person’s flourishing and their on – when in concert, the shared garden can flourish in new and surprising ways. We will practice various skills you can take with you and use immediately:

Who is this geared for?
